Abgal Aleena is a modern lebanese folk dance. Choreographed by Schadia, it is a fast skirt dance that can not hide its Gypsy/Roma influence. The skirts shown in the video and picture were made by the dancers themselves, and are about 15 yard long at the bottom tier.
When performed as a partner dance, the choreography shows the two dancers dancing together, with frequent interruptions when each dancer wants to outclass the other in a border-line friendly competition. A crowd pleaser, but as you will see, it requires ample room to perform.
