Chaiya

Ever daydream about being a starlet, singing and dancing in a fabulous scene from Bollywood movie? Well... here's your chance to live in your dreams! Chaiyya is a Bollywood style Indian dance. It was performed & filmed a top a real moving train in southern India for the motion picture "Dil Se." The original choreographer of this dance is Farah Khan. It was adapted for the stage by Schadia. The song itself was composed by A.R. Rahman, written by Gulzar, and sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Sapna Awasthi. While the song borrows from a Sufi folk song by Bulleh Shah, the choreography is all Bollywood. It has a mix of north Indian kathak, south Indian classical, hip-hop, and belly dance combined with a lot of style & flavor. This choreography is a challenge, but the dance is gorgeous, lots of fun to perform, and always a crowd favorite at shows. Come and Chaiya Chaiya with us!
