The Nazeem Allayl Dance Organization is holding "Open" Auditions for it's Amateur Dance Company, Nazeem Alsabah. Our auditions are usually closed and by invitation only. So, don't sit on the sidelines & miss this opportunity! Take a deep breath, get up your nerve, and attend the information meeting! Note: There will never be an audition for our two professional troupes, as we recruit and promote from within, i.e. all Nazeem Allayl and Nazeem Almassah dancers are former Nazeem Alsabah members. Note: The auditions are open to current students only; While in theory anyone could apply, you will not make it past the first round if you do not know any of the choreographies that our studio teaches, and we would also question your sincerity as to why you want to join a troupe that you know nothing about, so de facto, the auditions are for our students only.
AgendaWe will have an informational meeting @ the PMTR Studio on Friday, March 20th 2009, 8-10pm for those interested in Auditioning for Nazeem Alsabah. The meeting should last approximately 2 hours. We will discuss the details of the auditions, what will be expected of you, & what you can expect of us. We will also talk about what it's like to be a member of Nazeem Alsabah, as well as the financial and time committment involved.Any questions? Frequent QuestionsHow does the audition process work? There is no set answer, since we customize the audition process each time depending on who auditions and who we are looking for. In general terms, depending on the dance background, we will test the candidates on their dance skills and potential. Of course we expect an intermediate student to be much better at technique than a beginner student, so we adjust for that. So while the details might change, you can expect the following:
I just started learning bellydance, can I audition?
Am I too old/young, tall/short, skinny/full figured to join?
What are my chances to make it in? Who is Nazeem Alsabah? The name Nazeem Alsabah means "Breezes of the Dawn" in Arabic.Schadia founded this troupe in 2002 as an amateur organization & creative outlet for our studio’s students. It has blossomed into one of the best Middle Eastern Dance Troupes in the U.S. -- amateur or professional. We currently have twenty (20) troupe members.

Who we are looking for?We are looking for BEGINNER LEVEL & INTERMEDIATE LEVEL Nazeem Allayl Studio Students. Yes, I said beginners! :-) We are definitely not looking for a "finished product" dancer & actually tend to recruit beginners, because we have a very distict style and want troupe members who are able to easily adapt & develop their dance into that style. We are looking for fabulous Works-in-Progress!
In addition to our diversity, we have a level of fitness which new troupe members need to have. Nazeem Alsabah is a group of serious DANCERS, who make dancing a major priority in their lives. Members take multiple weekly classes, rehearse long hours, and perform a lot. Our schedule is crazy hectic. You need to be in good shape, healthy, and have considerable stamina to keep up w/ us.
If you meet Nazeem Alsabah members, you will see that one of the things that
unite us is our strength, our love & respect for ourselves and for other
women. Female Power is definitely something we are all about! We are a big
family full of sisters, sisters and more sisters. You have to
loooooooooooove being around women to be in our troupes & that's for sure!
