Special note: A variety of swords will be available for purchase (workshop participants save 10% of the regular price of $75-$85). 
We will also have beginner swords available for purchase for only $19 (pre-order) or $25 at the door.

Description:
This will be a workshop designed for the 1st time sword dancer, but will also prove useful for those, who already dance w/ swords.
Schadia will introduce you to the art of belly dancing with a sword (raqs al-saif). You will not only learn some tips and tricks for balancing the sword on your head, but on other parts of your body as well – your hip, shoulder, and wrist, just to name a few. You will learn techniques to properly present your weapon to an audience. You will also gain experience doing many different basic steps, traveling moves, & spins with your new favorite prop.
You will be learning a fun & challenging combination using your new skills, but perhaps even more beneficial, you will come away from this workshop w/ a lot of tips, tricks & techniques that you can practice at home for many months to come.
